Windows 10: I cant scan due to WIA on two computers

I have been on the phone several times with Epson for several hours at a time. they now say I need to contact Microsoft.Windows imaging accusations.

> Type in "services.msc" (without the quotation marks) into the Run box.

> Click on the OK button or press Enter. This will open the Services window.

> In the Services window, locate and scroll down to find "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)."

> Right-click on "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" and select Properties from the context menu.

> In the Properties window, make sure the Startup type is set to "Automatic."

> Check the Service status, and if it is not already running, click on the Start button.

> Once the service has started, click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

Can no longer scan from scanner-WIA driver..

• We tried windows scan and another scan application both with the same result
• Yes, we run the HP doctor diagnosis with the same result always problem with the WIA
