  1. I can't change my Mobile Hotspot band to 2.4 GHz

I can't change my Mobile Hotspot band to 2.4 GHz. I want to use the PC's mobile hotspot to connect my phone to the internet, but my phone can't connect to 5GHz networks. I tried to change setting in 'Preferred band' to 2.4 Ghz, but the network is still not visible on my phone. It used to work couple of weeks ago. I could the network from my PC on my mobile phone and I was able to connect. But now I can not see the network on my phone.I'm getting an alert:'You are sharing your connection over the 5GHz network band. The network might not appear on devices that can only connect over 2.4 GHz.How ca

Why can't I change my Mobile Hotspot band to 2.4 GHz on Windows 11?

I can't change my Mobile Hotspot band to 2.4 GHz. I want to use the PC's mobile hotspot to connect my phone to the internet, but my phone can't connect to 5GHz networks. The edit button on the Mobile hotspot tab doesnt't have the option to change. I even tried changing the preferred band to 2.4 GHz in the control panel but that didn't work either.

Win 10 Mobile Hotspot config to 5 Ghz band gets: The selected network band isn't available. Select a different band and try again.

Win 10 1703 w/ all updates on and HP 255 G5 Notebook w/ all updates.

Trying to get a WiFi Mobile Hotspot running. Configured with Network Band to 5 GHz gets error "The selected network band isn't available. Select a different band and try again." Have reviewed property settings and all looks good. Laptop has dual band WiFi
    radios.

    Further information.

    1. Laptop is Ethernet network connected.

    2. WiFi controller is: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 Driver 7/2/2017 19.51.4.2. WiFi connectiod is Enabled or Not Connected. Diagnostics are clean.

    3. If I config Network Band to 2.4 GHz, all works well.

    4. The laptop connects to WiFi on the 5 GHz band just fine (in place of Ethernet). This test proves the WiFi radio is working and enabled.

Google search on the error message gets no relevant hits.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  4. I can't change my Mobile Hotspot band to 2.4 GHz

5Ghz band not available when turning on a hotspot

I am quoting a post from a similar thread on the Intel support forum:

"1. Click on "Edit" in Network properties and select 2.4 GHz band and then enable the Mobile hotspot.

    2. Next, click again on "Edit" in Network properties and select 5 GHz band and then try to enable the Mobile hotspot. It worked for me."

That would be on the same page as the screenshot...should be an option near the bottom. This is the thread in question:

Different Wi-Fi adapter but still Intel which means settings etc which be similar
