Windows 10: HP OfficeJet 4500 g510g-m scan solution for win11

HP officejet 4500 G510g

Just upgraded to windows 10. Using Lenovo laptop with HP Officejet 4500 G510g All in one printer/scanner. I can use printer, but when I use the windows fax/scan, it says cant recognize scanner? What do I do ?

be a little more specific with HP Officejet 4500 because there are several versions of it.
Officejet 4500 G510n-z (my cousin actually has this version - the G510N)
Officejet 4500 G510g-m
Officejet 4500 G510a-f
Officejet 4500 K710

look either at the back or the bottom of your Officejet 4500 printer, theoldwizard1, and check the product number carefully.

Hi MKSimonich, I am Rob, a volunteer and a 10 time and dual award MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis.

This is exactly what I would do if I had that problem.

As OEM HP is responsible for the proper operation of the printer/scanner

and their supplied drivers. Check with HP Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their forums.

It may not be a software problem however it is worth checking.

Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows (10, 8/8.1, 7, Vista, and XP)

Good chance you need to update or re-install the latest available driver.
