Windows 10: How to transfer digital passkey from a laptop to pc

I am wondering if it possible to transfer a activated windows on an old laptop that i have to a new PC I am going to build if it is possible to transfer the windows key from it as the laptop had activated windows so it is digital and I not sure what the pass key is .is it possible to know what the pass key to activate it is and csn i transfer the ownership to the new pc?

PASSKEYs seem to be the new web thing beyond passwords. My question is - using a 4-digit passkey (like 1234) on one site, can the same 4-digit passkey be used safely on "all" other sites, or do we need to have unique passkeys for each site as we now have unique passwords?

 

Transfer digital license to new laptop

Hi,

I purchased a laptop with Windows 11 Home preinstalled. I have a digital license for Windows 10 pro on an old PC. I would like to transfer the Pro license to the new laptop - either Windows 10 pro or Windows 11 pro. How do I transfer the digital License?

Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.

Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
