Windows 10: How to stop IPv6 ip address from changing every day?

My IPv4 address rarely changes.

My IPv6 address changes every day.

This is a problem because my IP address gets added to a whitelist so I can access a work network computer, so I have to update the whitelist every day.

QUESTION: Is there a way to tell Windows 10 to not get a new IPv6 address? Or is this something that I configure in the modem?

Finding IP address

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to find printer’s IP address:

1. Type Devices and Printers in the Windows search bar.
   
2. Select on the printer and click on
   Manage.
   
3. Click on the Ports tab.
   You will be able to find printer’s IP address under the ‘Ports’ tab.
   

Few printers also have a “Test print” option on the printer. When you print a test page from network printer, the page shows the IP address along with other details.

Note: If it is set on DHCP mode the IP address will constantly change.
The IP address is assigned automatically by your router using a protocol called DHCP.

How to change your IP address?

Sometimes you have to reboot.

Are you typing in the correct Default Gateway, the default subnet mask (which is usually always 255.255.255.0) the DNS Server addresses, and the ip address you want to change to ?

It`s simpler to just let the router hand out the ip addresses *Smile they will stay the same from day to day.

Your IP is provided by your ISP and cannot be changed. Your IP address is assigned to you by the ISP and can be seen by anyone.
