Windows 10: How to stop file from opening on Windows startup

I have an Excel file that I set to open automatically when Windows starts. I want to remove this from startup, but I can't find how I set it in the first place. I have looked in my startup folder, it's not in the XLSTART folder, it's not in the "at startup open all files in" section of the Excel Advanced Options, Excel is not in my list of startup apps. I have looked in the Startup tab in Task Manager, I have looked at task scheduler and have searched the three registry keys mentioned in another Windows Support article. Would anyone have any other ideas where this instruction might be?

That's not Windows 10. Mine opens that stupid window at the startup, and checking the startup folder, there is NO item there saying Files Explorer. That was no help at all.

 

Can't get GPU-Z to start with Windows 8.1 startup

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

I would suggest you to open the task manager and disable the file explorer from there. Follow the below steps:

1. Open the Task Manager.

2. Go to startup tab.

3. See if Files Explorer is listed there. If yes, right click and
disable it.

Now check for the issue.
