  1. How to show recently opened files in context menu of apps pinned to Start in Windows 11?

When I right click an app pinned to the Start menu in Windows 11 for example Word as shown below in pic 1 a context menu with limited but relevant options opens. However, when I right click the same app from the All apps section of the Start menu the context menu also displays suggested and recently showed files as shown in pic 2. How do I get the second context menu when right clicking the pinned app? This was a functionality already available in Windows 10 and has been needlessly removed. I run Windows 11 Pro build 22631.2338Pic1Pic 2

  2. RKG-MS Win User

Windows 11 - No Longer can Right click app to see list of recent files on pinned apps in Start Menu

IT IS UNCONSCIENCABLE that this missing functionality from Window 11 was Not Corrected yet.

This Complaint/Suggestion was first raised September 29, 2021

Apps pinned on the Start Menu no longer show you recently opened files by right-clicking the app's icon, as they did in Window 10

This is a Giant Pain In The Neck, and I cannot believe you have chosen to ignore this MAJOR FLAW in Windows 11

  3. Unable to Pin a File to Start Menu App

Pinning files to an app's Start Menu icon seems to be an ongoing OS problem in Win 10, MS Office 365.

I have MS Office 365 installed and updated. The apps are all on the Start Menu, Word and Excel are pinned there. When I right-click on the Word app icon, the context menu and MRU list is displayed with a single pinned file and a list of recent files.
If I right-click on one of those recent files and select "Pin to this list" or click on the pin icon on the right, the file replaces the one in the pinned section. Attempts to pin any file simply replaces the one that's there. It appears that I can have
only one file pinned at a time.

The files I'm trying to pin exist. I can open them from the MRU list.

This doesn't happen with the Excel MRU list, just Word's.

Troubleshooter reports no problems. SFC reports no problems. Win 10 is fully updated as of today.

Please, don't ask me to reset the OS or reinstall Office...those solutions are overkill and just desperate attempts at proper troubleshooting.

  4. How to show recently opened files in context menu of apps pinned to Start in Windows 11?

Context Menu - Open With (Windows Suggested List)

    OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 22H2
Diagram 'A' shows Windows' suggested programs
Diagram 'B' shows the extended list

I have been trying to edit the context menu's "Open with" list of Windows' suggested programs for the .mp3 extension.
I'm not talking about the extended list, but rather the programs that first appear 'before' the "choose another app" option.
If you look at Diagram 'A' you will see the preliminary list generated by Windows, this is the list I am looking to modify.
I have an .mp3 editor named Goldwave that I use for editing audio files, however, I do not want to change the preliminary program Windows uses to open .mp3s. My .mp3s should remain assigned to Winamp Player.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
