Windows 10: How to reset administrator password on a non administrator account

I forgot the password to my administrator account so I used a non administrator account and tried to use command prompt to change the password on the admin account but I can’t give it access to do that without my admin account password I even tried safe mode but it just won’t work I can’t do anything please help I have no other administrator accounts and my windows hello doesn’t work. I don’t know the answers to my security question and I have no reset disk. I do not want to reinstall my OS. Is there any way to force the computer to make an account admin and forcefully get admin permissions?

You set up the admin password when installing XP, but most the time people believe it is for their individual account and not the Administrator one. As for Vista, like stated before, the initial account created is an administrator account, and if necessary, you may need to right click certain programs to "Run as Administrator"

When it asks non-admin accounts for an admin password to authorise something, it routinely suggests the last admin account used. If you click on More choices, you will see a list of admin accounts and you can just select the one you now have access to. The next time the dialog appears it will suggest that as the admin account to use to give permission to proceed.



Once you have done this and seen it all working, you can either delete her old account [after having checked her user folders to make sure there is nothing there you need] or, assuming it is a local account not an MSAccount, just reset her password then put on a new one** so that the account is available as a spare admin.
