  1. How to link a file in one Sharepoint folder to another?

My company has multiple Sharepoint sections rather than a real CMS. I'd like to link a file from one group's folder to another group's. I've been searching for a while, and the closest I get to a solution is https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/syncing-files-on-different-sharepoint-sites/0a7ed958-ca16-427f-95bc-58d741835c3cThat shows the steps to allow the links to be created, but I can't figure out how to add the links. When I copy the file's link, I can't see how to paste it into the new folder. Is there a an article I haven't yet found that shows how to do it?Also, the Pro

Open a Sharepoint link in FIle explorer

    Hi,

My company uses Sharepoint (and I despise it). My computer is synced to Sharepoint so all company files show in file explorer on my computer. People frequently send me links to files they want me to review and comment on or add a section to. I want to be able to easily open the sharepoint link they send me such that it opens the folder where the file is located in file explorer, NOT sharepoint, because 1-I hate using Sharepoint and 2-I will need to go into the file frequently for a period of time and I want to be able to find it, and 3-if someone does a save as of that file and starts a new version, I want to see that in the folder so that I am not working off of an old version. How can I do this? Can I write a macro to do it?

Things I have tried that don't work:

-Other sites have said to right click on the hyperlink in the email and then paste it into file explorer, but that does not work-It gives an error message saying that Windows can't find it.

-Right click on sharepoint hyperlink in the email and select Open with desktop app. This is not what I need. I want to be able to find it easily in file explorer.

-Open link in sharepoint, Select filename on the upper right of the screen, select the arrow next to location in the dropdown, use that screen to help me find my way to the file in file explorer. This is intensely frustrating and time consuming.

    Would welcome any suggestions.

  3. Quick Access Link to Sharepoint folders

In File Explorer/Quick Access, I have a link to our Sharepoint folders. If I click on this link I receive a "You might not have permission to use this network resource." If from within the Quick Access pane, I first click on a Recently Used file located
in that Sharepoint folder and then click on the folder it opens as it should and I can navigate it.

Is Quick Access unable to apply my credentials as a security feature or is there some setting that I can change to correct this?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Open a Sharepoint link in FIle explorer

    Dear User,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand your frustration with using SharePoint and your preference for accessing files directly through File Explorer.

As far as I know, I'm sorry and I'm afraid there is no built-in feature to directly open a SharePoint link in File Explorer.

Writing a macro to automate this process isn't feasible as SharePoint links are specific to the web environment and not directly compatible with File Explorer.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

I recommend you try posting your concern to Microsoft Q&A Community with SharePoint tag and ask if there is any customized solution which can meet your requirement. Members and engineers over there are proficient in the knowledge of SharePoint customization and development queries. They will focus on the specific situation on your side and provide specific suggestions for you.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

    Sincerely,
