Windows 10: How to I fix 'No audio output device installed' after Windows update December 16, 2024?

After the windows update of December 16th, my hpenvy has no audio device is installed error message. I have already ran the sound troubleshooter, removed and re-installed the drivers, re-started the computer, and still no audio.The computer has no output sound on the realtek or intel speaker systems. Please advice how to fix this error. This only happened after the Windows update. Please help me recover the sound on my computer. Thank youI have already worked with Norton for the driver update and also went to HP for the driver update.

I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

2. Select "playback devices".

3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

5. Save the changes.

Thanks to your suggestions , I have now following Device Manager (Sound ...available)







Unfortunately some drivers are not installed.
Snappy Driver showed following error , device error 28 :
