  1. How to enable spellcheck for multiple languages without them interfering?

I currently have 2 different keyboard layouts, english United Kingdom and Norwegian, my native language. Both of which have a norwegian keyboard installed. I simply want to be able to switch between the two, and have the spellcheck act accordingly. However, no matter what order I put the layouts in, no matter what I set the display language to, it always corrects english, and it always highlights any norwegian word I write with a red line. Is there a solution to this, or are you not simply able to set spellcheck for multiple languages?

    :)

  2. In Windows 11 Notepad, how can I change the spellcheck language?

    Hello Vincent,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

I understand that you would like to change the SpellCheck Language in NotePad. For Notepad specifically, Windows 11 might not offer a direct way to change the spellcheck language within the app itself.

    To change your SpellCheck Language,

    a. Go to Settings.

    b. Click Time & Language.

    c. Under Preferred Language, make sure English (US) is in the lists. If it is not in the lists, Download the language pack by selecting 'Add a Language'.

    d. Once downloaded, click three dots next to English (United States) and move the language to the top.

    e. Close Notepad if opened and restart it again.

The Notepad spellcheck works based on the default language selected under Preferred Languages. Also, you cannot use multiple languages for spellcheck in Notepad.

To provide feedback, click the Windows + F key altogether and submit your feedback directly to Microsoft.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

Spellchecking is no longer finding the right word

    Hi there,

In whatever desktop app I use, Chrome, Firefox, Discord, that uses the system's spellchecker, I never get the right suggestions.

    • I've uninstalled and reinstalled my english languages packs,
    • i've turned off and turned on spellchecking

It was not always like this, it uses to work well a while ago.

I've been busy the last couple of weeks to dive into this, but I'm still wondering what the issue is.

I'll try to add a screenshot to illustrate my issue:
