Keyboard lights

1. Did you mean the keyboard backlight or indicator lights (i.e. Num Lock)?
2. If your problem is about indicator lights, are you using a external keyboard?

--KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT--

Consult your laptop's manual downloaded from the internet. You might want to install some drivers in order to use the backlight.

--INDICATOR LIGHT--

1. LAPTOP KEYBOARD
   • If indicator light, try pressing the Caps Lock key and see if the caps lock light turned on. Same process for Scroll and Num lock.
   • Some laptops may show the "Caps Lock ON" in your laptop screen.
2. EXTERNAL KEYBOARD (EITHER USB OR BLUETOOTH)
   • When you use the external keyboard, locate the "Caps Lock" key indicator light. Try pressing the "Caps Lock" and make sure if it is turned on. Same process for Scroll and Num Lock.

If these are not working, try installing or updating the drivers. You'll need to restart after installing.

-> to cpitchford: I downloaded package and entered the commands you suggested. X terminal reply after "sudo gainroot" was "Enable RD mode if you want to break your phone". I'm not at home with RD mode, so I rather don't
mess with it.. After all it was mentioned to just monitor when the switch is on/off? Keyboard light comes ON when display bottom edge reaches middle of Q-letter (on keyboard) and go OFF after the "clunk". Then, if I slightly press down the display (1mm) the
keyboard lights come ON again.

_> to DrEJV :I think the background light sensor is working OK - when I cover the light sensor with finger ,display dimes slightly. Problem is that keyboard light don't work at all when display is fully open, not even in total backround
blackout.



Think that there might be wrong something with physical switch, as jlpils suggested, because now I know that they SHOULD be lighted

permanently enable night light

If Windows still thinks Nightlight is on when you wake your display, trying to get Windows to keep Nightlight on isn't going to help. Presumably when the monitor wakes, you see Windows settings showing Nightlight is still on (e.g. in the Action Centre and Settings). I can only assume what's happening is some effect between your graphics card and the monitor, depending on exactly what has gone into sleep mode. If there's no obvious way to fix that, I would suggest you rather look for a simple one-click/hotkey approach to toggling the Nightlight setting. Manually, the easiest is proably using the Action Centre. (Win A, click Nightlight twice).
