Windows 10: how to correct a Windows 11 pro product key issue ?

I recently had to upgrade my Laptop as my graphic adapter was causing problems, i delted all my bakups and now running Windows 24H2 from Windows 22h2, the product keys i have are the original home edition and i purchased a Pro edition and both keys are not working after a software re-install with all new software not from backup, I need the Pro license so i can use Remote Desktop

The Original Poster has not responded regarding your suggestion; however, I am having the same issue and can confirm that I have the correct upgrade version of Windows 10. I am trying to upgrade from Windows 8.1 Pro (most currently updated version) using
Windows 10 Pro via USB drive.

My 8.1 Pro is activated, but my OEM product key for 8.1 Pro is not accepted by Windows 10. I also have confirmed that the product key works by re-entering the product key.

Windows 11 home to Windows 11 pro upgrade by product key - not active

HI,

I bought a product key for windows 11 pro, I did install it however i get error code an not able to activate -> 0x80072EE7.

Is there a way to resolve the issue? Tried to do the phone activation but it doesnt help. Windows suggest installing windows 11 home again (which I dont want since I bought windows 11 pro).

Have you tried logging in with the account linked to the digital license on your device? I've provided a few steps you can try including some more you can follow:

1. Link your Microsoft account: Ensure that your Microsoft account is linked to the digital license on your device. Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info and check if your Microsoft account is listed there. If not, click "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" to link your account.
   
2. Run the Activation Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > System > Activation, and click the "Troubleshoot" button. This will launch the Activation Troubleshooter, which can help reactivate Windows after a hardware change if your Microsoft account is linked correctly.
   
3. Enter your existing product key: If the Troubleshooter doesn't resolve the issue, try entering your existing Windows 11 Pro product key. Go to Settings > System > Activation, and click "Change product key." Enter the key you used previously to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.
