Windows 10: How to completely disable Slide To Shutdown function or HW Power button?

About the situation:

I've bought a tablet/laptop windows 10 combo device. The problem is that power button kinda broke spring inside of it broke ant kinda always pressed by gravity. The thing is that that button actualy works kinda the same as it would work on a android tablet - short press locks the tablet, long press initiates the "do you want to power off the device?" only that it does it with Slide To Shutdown function.


Main problem is that it ignores me sliding up - it still initiates the shut down sequence. As it does not cut that device power on a long press as on normal laptop or PC I imagine that button is wired similarly as on android devices.


So main question is how to OS/software wase disable power button or at least "kill" Slide To Shutdown feature?


I already set power button to do nothing when pressed at a power options as well as in a power plan. I also tried that troubleshooting thing where you run power troubleshooter ant it supose to disable slide to shut down after reboot but no luck there eather.


I do understand that most logical solution would be to give this to electronics repair shop or replace the device but I don't have a device to tempruary replacement nor I have a oportunity to get the new one.. at least not now.


I really need help with this. Thanks in advance.

I understand that the laptop will not shutdown completely. We will help you.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps you.

• Remove all the externally connected devices and cables including the battery.
• Hold the power button for about a minute and release the power button.
• Connect only the power cable and power on the PC.
• Check if the issue persists.

WIN 10 Power Button Functions Dissapeared

After upgrading from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro, the settings may have been disabled or reconfigured. Let's bring them back by configuring the
Power Options. This is applicable to any Windows version. To do this, follow the steps below:

• Right-click the Start menu, then select Power Options.
  
• Click Choose what the power buttons do on the left side pane.
  
• Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then under the
  Shutdown settings select the options you want to show.

Let us know how'd it went after configuring Power Options.
