  1. How to change the "Save As" folder in Windows Fax & Scan?

But I always have to select the different folder. The application will not remember where I want to "Save as" to. How can I set that to always open to my "Preferred Folder" or last used folder for example.PLEASE NOTE: I am not trying to change the location of the "Scanned Documents" folder. I want to continue to have all my scans initially save there with the generic name e.g. "Image 843". I want to same an additional

    Hi Grin Olsson,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. What is the make and model number of your computer?
    2. Which was the update that was installed prior to this issue?
    3. What is the model number of the printer?
    4. Do you get any error message while saving the scanned document?
    5. Which application are you using to scan the document?

Meanwhile, when you finish scanning the document, I suggest you to save the document to a different place on your computer like on the
Desktop instead of saving it in the Pictures folder and see if you are able to save the scanned file.

Also, you may try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in Scan

and check if you are able to save the document.

Write to us with the updated results and the required information for us to be able to assist you further.
