    How to change a device considered as "output" into "input"

    I have a microphone that I can plug in the 3.5 mm headphone jack. My laptop can sense that it is plugged in but has considered it an output device, when it should be input.I've tried changing it through the control panel and even through the normal sound settings, but there is no option to change it into an input device.How can I change this behaviour from the laptop to sense that it's an input device and not one that is output?

    :)

    no input or output audio devices found

    Unfortunately, that did not work. There is something listed under the sound now in the device manager and that says it is functioning, but i still have no sound and it states there are no input and output devices.

    What to change for apps and games to access my input and output devices?

    Hello Yuan, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

    I understand that you are having problems with audio in games on Windows 11;

    What exactly is your PC model and manufacturer?

    If it's a desktop, what exactly is the model and manufacturer of the motherboard?

    Are you playing these games through Steam?

    If so, I recommend that you try to change the input and output devices on Steam;

    Launch Steam;

    Open the friends list and click on Settings (upper right corner of the friends list);

    Click Voice;

    Define input and output devices;

    Now check if the microphone works normally in games;

    See you soon!

    No audio input or output devices found

    After the last update of Windows 10, no audio devices are listed

    Searching in the device manager: all audio devices say it works fine

    The sound setting says: no output or input devices were found.
