Windows 10: How do I turn off "Microsoft Start"?

Another pointless update, another stupid bloatware nobody asked for. And they gave it a name that makes googling for help impossible, due to the results all relating to either startup or the start menu. How do I get this stupid newsfeed off my taskbar, and why does it know my city when I turned off location services?

The Occasionally show suggestions in Start setting is only for the Suggested apps shown in the All Apps list in the Start menu instead.

You can also turn off automatic installation of suggested apps to completely stop them. Be sure to also read the blue note box at the top of the tutorial below for more info.

cannot turn off jump list

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to turn off the Jump Lists on Windows 10:

• Go to Start menu, search Settings, then press
  Enter.
• Click Personalization.
• Select Start.
• Turn off the Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or taskbar.

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

• 
  Click Start icon and click Settings
  
• 
  Choose Personalization, click on Start
  
• 
  Turn on “Use start full screen”
