    how do i troubleshoot a plugged in webcam without the hardware and devices troubleshooter?


    I just found my old webcam logitech quick cam orbit from like 2012 and I want to use it as a microphone for my computer. The usb device connecting to the webcam is reported as unknown in my device manager Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43; A request for the USB device descriptor failed. How do I get my computer to recognize the webcam? It worked on my current computer dell G7 laptop about a year ago and on my old computer old alienware 4 years ago but it's not working now. I tried installing the webcam software, updating drivers, unplugging an

    troubleshooter hardware and devices

    Open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Configure a device.

    Or: Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.

    Click on “View All” in the top left corner.

    This should display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. Click on Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.

    The Hardware and Devices troubleshooter was removed from that list of troubleshooters a couple of years ago in Windows 10, however, it still exists in Windows 10

    Click your Start Button, then just type cmd

    From the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

    Paste this into Command Prompt and press Enter:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

    That will open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter in Windows 10 . . .

    On both my desktop pc and laptop when accessing Troubleshooter History the title Hardware and Devices troubleshooter are in blue (hyperlink) and 'Could not be run on 03/07/2020 Critical troubleshooter' appear in red. When I click on the link I get takenIssues using OneDrive Files On-Demand on some devices after updating to Windows 10, version 2004 - Microsoft Support This
    is no help as I don't use One Drive. The Hardware and Devices troubleshooter is not listed on the available troubleshooters. Any ideas, please?
