  2. error with epic games store 0xc000007b

Thank you very much for reaching out! As an Independent Advisor and fellow Microsoft user, I'm more than happy to assist you.

The error code 0xc000007b is a common issue that many users encounter when trying to launch the Epic Games Launcher on Windows. This error typically indicates a problem with the system files or the compatibility of certain DLL files. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve this issue:

One effective method is to manually replace certain DLL files that might be corrupted or incompatible. Follow these steps:

    1. Locate the Epic Games Launcher Installation Directory:
      • Usually found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\.
    2. Extract and Replace DLL Files:
      • Navigate to the DirectXRedist folder within the Epic Games installation directory.
      • Extract the .dll files from the .cab files in this folder.
      • Copy these extracted .dll files to the Win32 directory mentioned above.
Another common fix involves replacing the D3DCOMPILER_43.dll file:

    1. Download the DLL File:
      • Download the D3DCOMPILER_43.dll file from a reliable source like dll-files.com
    2. Replace the DLL File:
      • Copy the downloaded D3DCOMPILER_43.dll file to the following directories:
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win32
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32
        • C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64
Make sure you have all the necessary Visual C++ Redistributables installed:

    1. Download Visual C++ Redistributables:
      • Use a comprehensive package like the Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One from a trusted site like MajorGeeks.
    2. Install the Redistributables:
      • Run the installer and ensure all versions are installed.
Sometimes, enabling certain .NET Framework features can resolve the issue:

    1. Open Control Panel:
      • Go to Programs and Features and click on Turn Windows features on or off.
    2. Enable .NET Framework:
      • Ensure that .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 4.8 are enabled.

  3. error with epic games store 0xc000007b

If those steps did not resolve your issue, the next step would be to perform a clean boot and check if Epic Games works.

    1. Open System Configuration:
      • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
      • Type msconfig and press Enter.
    2. Configure Selective Startup:
      • In the System Configuration window, go to the General tab.
      • Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
    3. Disable Non-Microsoft Services:
      • Go to the Services tab.
      • Check the box for Hide all Microsoft services.
      • Click Disable all.
    4. Disable Startup Programs:
      • Open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
      • Go to the Startup tab.
      • Disable all startup items by right-clicking each item and selecting Disable.
    5. Restart Your Computer:
      • Click OK in the System Configuration window.
      • Restart your computer.
    6. Run the Epic Games Launcher:
      • After your computer restarts, try launching the Epic Games Launcher to see if the issue persists.
If performing a clean boot does not resolve the issue, consider the following additional steps:

    1. Check for Conflicting Software:
      • Some software, such as certain antivirus programs or system optimization tools, can interfere with the Epic Games Launcher. Ensure these are disabled or uninstalled temporarily to test.
    2. Clear Epic Games Launcher Cache:
      • Press Win + R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.
      • Navigate to the Epic Games Launcher folder and delete the Web Cache folder.
    3. Reinstall the Epic Games Launcher:
      • Uninstall the Epic Games Launcher completely.
      • After uninstalling, delete any remaining Epic Games folders in %localappdata% and %programdata% if you haven't tried deleting them before.
      • Restart your computer and reinstall the Epic Games Launcher from the official website.

I kindly ask that you keep me updated on the outcomes after trying them.

how do i store new games like from steam and epic games to d file

Compiling list of installed Epic Launcher games

Is there a way to compile a list (with file locations) of all games installed on my computer through the Epic game launcher? I want to write a Python code, or code in any other language, to list all the paths to the executable files for these games, along with any other information saved by Epic. I know you can do this with Steam because there are Javascript files that save all this information. I haven't figured out if Epic does the same thing though, or if there is a strategy to do this. Thanks Windows 10 21H2
