Windows 10: How do I stop Onedrive from syncing my pictures folder?

There was a recent update to OneDrive. When I opened up my computer the program offered to sync all the files on my computer. I unwittingly clicked the wrong option and immediately the entire router was blocked up by OneDrive upload of videos and photos in hundreds of GB of data. After uninstalling the program and reinstalling it, the pictures folder continues to sync even though I have that backup toggle set to OFF. What is going on with your program? I'm literally about to go buy a MacBook and sell my windows computer for good. When is the fix coming out?

Unlink Pictures Folder from OneDrive

Hello there,

I am attempting to unlink the Pictures folder in Windows 10 from OneDrive. I have far too many pictures currently and don't want to have them eat up up space. I believe I was able to do it before I reformatted my computer, but it no longer lets me bypass it. I get a message saying Can't stop syncing folder.

Any suggestions?

Is there any way to use the onedrive app WITHOUT syncing core folders?

Yes. You can choose not to sync your personal shell folders during the OneDrive setup. If syncing has been enabled already for your core shell folders, you can disable syncing using these steps:

To revert the shell folder locations to default, open OneDrive and do the following:

Important: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder erases the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
   
2. Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
   
3. In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
   
4. Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
   
5. Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.

OneDrive - Sync iPad and iPhone Pictures to Different Folders

I have OneDrive set up to sync pictures from my iPhone to the Pictures folder in OneDrive.

I want to sync pictures from my iPad to a different folder in OneDrive.

How do I do that?
I am running Windows 10 on my Desktop computer if that matters.
