  1. how do I restore the camera roll folder

I have Windows 11 and I right clicked on the camera roll folder and made the location the onedrive folder. What I REALLY wanted to do was to make it a folder inside of Onedrive. Right now pictures are being saved to the root in onedrive and I want them in a folder. How do I fix this? note - I do see lots of advice online on how to restore the pictures folder, but that's not the problem, I want the camera roll folder where the photos are automatically stored when taken. Thanks, Jeff

    :)

    Camera roll folder

    Hi Bruce,

    1

Open the Camera Roll folder in File Explorer

    2

Ensure you can also see the Camera Roll folder in the left pane

    3

In the search box those *.* and press Enter

    4

Wait for the list to build, then click the top file, scroll down to the bottom and press Shift, then click the bottom file

That should select all files in that Camera Roll folder, drag them into the Camera Roll folder in the left pane

Then, open the Camera Roll folder and all files should be in that folder, not in those date stamped folders

You should then be able to delete those empty date stamped folders.

  4. how do I restore the camera roll folder

Can you Hide the Camera Roll folder in Windows 11?

    Open a Command Prompt window.

    Type:

    • attrib +s +h "%userprofile%\Pictures\Camera Roll"
Press Enter. This hides the "Camera Roll" folder.

    To unhide it, run:

    • attrib -s -h "%userprofile%\Pictures\Camera Roll"
If you've moved "Pictures\Camera Roll" to OneDrive, then use the following pathin the above command-line:

    "%userprofile%\OneDrive\Pictures\Camera Roll"
