Windows 10: How do I fix this taskbar glitch of icons moving around and stacking?

After a couple of hours of my PC on, the app icons on my taskbar glitch and will move around. They will also stack on top of other icons or remove some completely.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Windows 11 Taskbar: lag/freeze when moving icons between them

hello microsoft..i too have this same issue...i have 2 monitors and moving an icon on the taskbar on either monitor will cause a windows lockup..the fix is to do as the user suggested and only show the taskbar on 1 monitor....however this only confirms it is windows error not a end user issue.

Glitch confirmed guys...pls create a patch ASAP

 

Moving the taskbar

You can customize your taskbar to pin your favorite apps to it, move it to where you want to display on your screen, and specify how taskbar buttons group together when you have more than one window open. To address your question, we suggest
that you follow these steps on how to move your taskbar to a different location on the screen:

• Open Settings and choose Personalization.
• Select Taskbar.
• Under Taskbar location on the screen, click the drop-down menu and select
  Bottom.
