Windows 10: How do I fix the error code "20002, open service failed", when trying to start Fortnite.

I keep getting an error code while trying to boot up Fortnite. It's 20002, open service failed, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. However, it only pops up about 80-90% of the time I try to boot up the game. I haven't noticed any patterns. The most similar code I've found is 20006, and have already done everything people say to fix that error code verify game files after deleting them, deleting then redownloading the game, deleting and reinstalling easy anti-cheat, deleting then verifying easy anti-cheat files. I've also sent in a support ticket to Epic Games, but it's been a week

FIX Fortnite "Login Failed Error"

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue might be due to the latest patch or due to some network connection issues. I'd suggest you to try the below steps and check.

Method 1: Install the latest Fortnite Patch.

It's possible that a recent patch has stopped you from logging into the game. Try to install the patch and check. I see that a content update for Fortnite has been released on 11/20/2018.

1. Run the Epic Games Launcher.

2. Click the gear button.

3. Check the box Allow Auto-Updates.

4. Click the down-pointing triangle next to Fortnite.

5. Check the box Auto-Update Fortnite.

6. Restart the Epic Games Launcher.

Method 2: Reset Winsock data.

Winsock is an interface that defines how network software should access network services. Resetting Winsock data might help.

1. Click on Start icon.

2. Type Command Prompt.

3. Right click on it, and select Run as administrator.

4. In the command prompt, type netsh winsock reset and press
Enter.

5. Restart the system and check.

Method 3: Flush your DNS and renew your IP.

Fortnite login failure is also caused by DNS and IP issues. Follow the below steps to flush your DNS and renew your IP and check:

Open command prompt as administrator as mentioned in method 2.

To flush DNS:

1. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

To renew your IP:

1. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.

2. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

Method 4: Update the network driver.

The issue might be due to missing or outdated network driver. I'd suggest you to update the network driver and check.

You can also update the network drivers from the system manufacturer site.

User Profile Service Service failed! User profile cannot be loaded.

Brink:
I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.

 

Dependencey Service Failed To start

Hi ppl hope everthigs good there cause im not at all, i turned on my computer yesterday and got network errors like this: in the network icon only appear statys:unknown and below that appear the dependency service or group failed to start and i don't have any network service working in my computer and i tried to start them manually and nothing lots off errors tried to start Diagnostic Policy, dhcp and other network services and nothing any help will be appreciated...
