Windows 10: How do i fix my vm installation problem

I'm trying to get into vms, and I heard kali was the best, I made sure I had proper space and processing necessary and enabled virtualization, the next step was to download kali, but when I tried the download never finished, it always said 3.1 out of 3.1 gigabytes completed but it never installed and could actually open, I tried repeatedly both the 64 and 32 bit versions, until yesterday when the 64 bit file downloaded as a compressed file, but still refuses to work as oracle insists that it can't find the file. Today I tried to do it one more time and it asks me what I want to do with the cur

Problem activating Windows 11 after switching VMs

Hi there,

I purchased Windows 11 Home a couple of months ago and installed it on a VirtualBox VM. But VirtualBox was crashing quite a bit so I deactivated Windows 11 using the following commands:

• slmgr /upk
  
• slmgr /cpky
  

(as suggested on Redirecting ) and then installed it on a VMWare VM. Problem is, I can't activate Windows on the new VM even though it was deactivated on the old VM. I tried the recommended Troubleshooting Wizard solutions to no available and I couldn't find a Microsoft email address or support number, so I am posting here. Can anyone suggest how to contact Microsoft about this activation issue?

PS: I have already deleted the old VM so I can't log back onto it.

 

Can I install Garuda Linux in an Azure VM ?

Hi everyone,

I want to use Garuda Linux on my Azure VM by either using an ORACLE VIRTUALBOX or ANY OTHER suitable way.

But for that I need Hyper-V which is not available in any Azure VMs. I know nested virtualization exists, but I tried various VM sizes, Ds2_v3, e-series and almost everyone, none of them have it.

And I have read this documentation - Run Hyper-V in a Virtual Machine with Nested Virtualization | Microsoft Learn

in one of the steps, it says While the virtual machine is in the OFF state, run the following command on the physical Hyper-V host. Here, what is this physical hyper-v host? My laptop? or the Azure Data Centre ?

I couldn't figure out.

So can you please let me know the complete configuration of Azure VM -

• Which VM size to use
  
• Any additional settings during VM creation
  
• Region to choose
  
• Settings to do in the VM itself
  

so that I can use Oracle Virtualbox to install Garuda Linux.

If nested virtualization is not possible, suggest any alternative way to install Garuda linux on the VM.

 

Running your Browser in a VM?

• Install VMware Player or Virtualbox, VMware being faster in my experience
  
• Create a VM with sufficent RAM HD and all CPU cores
  
• Install Ubuntu/Linux Mint/Debian or some lightweight distro with Xcfe or LXDE
• Install VMware/Virtualbox tools
  
• Almost any distro comes with Firefox
• Install Ublock Origin/Noscript/Ghostery
• Disable cookies with a whitelist/use private browsing.

In my experience, running a browser through a VM can slow down scrolling smoothness, video playback and increase ping delay
