Windows 10: How do I fix my generic bluetooth adapter?

I recently purchased a B550 Plus wifi ii mobo and built a computer with it. Then yesterday I wanted to play a game with audio so I went to connect my headset via Bluetooth to be met with an error I immediately opened device manager and noticed the generic Bluetooth adapter had an error Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43 I've tried installing drivers and deleting it and restarting my pc. Whenever I try to install a new driver it says that I already have the newest one. Now when I was looking at device manager I noticed that the network controller doesn

It seems that the issue occurs after the Windows Update, we suggest that you download and run the

Windows Update Troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, you can follow these steps to reinstall the Windows Generic Bluetooth Adapter.

• Go to Device Manager.
• Look for the Windows Generic Bluetooth Adapter.
• Right click, then select Uninstall.

Try the following. I had the same issue. However each time I update my computer with a new insider update I have to repeat these steps.

• In the search type" Device manager" and open it.
• Click on the smal arrow next to either "Bluetooth" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers"
• Right click on "CSR" and select Update Driver
• Select" Browse my computer for driver update"
• Select on bottom :Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my Computer"
• Select "Generic bluetooth Driver"

This will fix it and you will be able to use your Bluetooth now with no other problems.

 

Promate Bluetooth™ 4.0 USB Adapter !

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?
