Windows 10: How do I downgrade Windows 11 Enterprise Evaluation to Windows 11 Pro?

I tried generic keys to downgrade/activate my windows 11 following this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/downgrade-windows-11-enterprise-to-windows-11-pro/9b3f8f5b-4767-494b-a2fe-b700f2cd0504 but they are just saying they are invalid VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T is what i tried using and it says the product key you entered didn't work. I'm trying to use my product key for Windows 11 pro without having all my storage be made to windows old or anything. Thanks for any help.

Downgrade Windows 11 Enterprise to Windows 11 Pro

Hi Guys

I am working on our companies migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11, I have a few devices that were activated using our Windows 11 Enterprise licensing using KMS. Is it possible to downgrade to Pro using a Windows 11 pro MAK or Retail key without causing any issues ?

I have seen some instances on the web showing that all you do is change product key using a generic Windows 11 pro key but surely the generic key is not valid as it is shown all over the tutorials or does Windows 11 use the Windows 11 enterprise activation as proof of purchase ?

 

Downgrading Windows 10 enterprise to pro

The procedure is a bit arcane, but I have managed to convert an Enterprise Evaluation to Pro, doing it in two steps: EnterpriseEval to Enterprise (unactivated); then Enterprise (unactivated) to Pro. Details here.

Please note that you must have a separate license for Pro if you wish to downgrade. If your company has bought KMS licenses, it is likely that Pro keys are provided to you.

If there is an existing license for Pro with the machine, you can use the generic key to downgrade to Pro - steps below, which are valid for Windows 11 as well.
