    How do I disable snap scrolling for spreadsheets in Windows 10?


    So, I've looked across the web for a way to disable this "feature" but I have yet to find a working solution. Any spreadsheet program I use in Windows 10 seems to snap to the cells when trying to scroll instead of smoothly scrolling between cells as has been the case on previous versions of Windows. I use Windows 7 on another machine and do not have this issue. I had Windows 8.1 on this machine before upgrading but did not have the issue with it then until after the update to Windows 10. Whenever I try to scroll across horizontally or vertically by dragging the scrollbar, it will snap to the n

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Annoying snapping of the scroll slider

    Hi!
    When I’m working in a window of a random application and I want to scroll up/down or left/right in this window, the scroll slider snaps to the starting position when I move the mouse pointer beyond a certain distance of the slider.
    See .
    Why is that? It’s quite annoying. In macOS I can move the mouse pointer wherever I want on the screen without this snapping of the scroll bar.

    Question: is it possible in Windows 10 to disable this (for me) pointless feature?

    Hi,

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable the smooth scrolling and check if it helps.

    • Navigate to System Properties by right clicking
      Properties from my computer.
    • Click on Advanced and click on
      Performance settings      .
    • In Visual Effects tab of Performance Options window, click
      Custom. Then deselect the following items to Disable some unnecessary eye candy:
    • Uncheck Smooth-scroll list boxes.
