Windows 10: How do I disable recent played section in New Media Player

I couldn't manage to turn off the recent files section in Microsoft Media Player not the Windows Media Player. Whenever I open the program, it shows all the files that I opened with Microsoft Media Player in entrance screen. How do I turn off that feature?

What is the exact error message you get when you to try play files on Windows Media Player?

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.

Media Player Errors - Stops playing

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if issue persists.

Method 1: Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter

I suggest you to run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter, please refer to the steps below:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.

  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: Reinstall Windows Media player

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the Windows Media Player and check. Refer to these steps:

  Press Windows Key +X, select Programs and Features.

  Click on Turn Windows features ON or OFF on the left panel.

  Expand Media Features and uncheck the box against Windows Media Player.

How to turn on Error Correction on Windows 10 Media Player?

• Have you tried playing the CD on a different browser? Yes, it plays on other devices
  
• Are you able to play other CDs and DVDs in Windows Media Player? Yes
  
• Were there any recent changes on your device? No
  
• Have you recently installed any software? no
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? YOur forum suggested to find More Options from the arrow drop menu under Sync tab - but on my computer there is NO More Options there. I tried all the other arrow menus on Media Player, still no More
  Options . So where is it?

At one point I found Error correction but there was only a selection for when ripping or burning (i forget which) but nothing available under the Playing CD section. I think there is a glitch then - perhaps it is not programed to be available in Windows
10 for Playing CD's??
