Windows 10: How do I change Files Explorer to Compact View?

I can't get Files Explorer to change to compact view. I've tried:1. Enable Compact View in File Explorer – Compact View is chosen2. Enable Compact View in File Explorer Using Folder Options – Compact View is chosen:3. Regedit -- Compact Mode is set to 1I've checked Ultimate Windows Tweaker 5.1.0.0 for options.I've checked Winaero Tweaker 1.55.0.0 for options.What's left to try?

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

Why isn't "compact view" in File Explorer working?

I can't get "compact view" in file explorer to work. It says it's on everywhere I check. I've even checked the registry editor to make sure it's on. It's all good. But for some reason, despite being "on," my files still do not show up in compact view.

In order for you to change the view of Windows Explorer, follow the steps below:

• Open Windows Explorer.
• Select the View Tab.
• Click List.
