Windows 10: How do I change a Pc's "Local account" setting to a Microsoft account?

I'm trying to change the "Local Account" status on a laptop PC. The option on the Settings -> Accounts page is to "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead". When I try to do that, the system also asks for my Windows 11 password which I don't have.How can I fix this problem so that the PC will become visible to the other devices on my network?

To change your login settings from local account to Microsoft account, please follow the steps below:

• Click on Start menu and select Accounts.
• Select Your email and accounts and click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
• Type the details for your Microsoft Account.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

I do not know what the reason might be.

I suggest you create a new account and make that an MSAccount instead.
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account - TenForumsTutorials

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.
