Windows 10: How can I transfer my projects from Windows 10 Video Editor to Clipchamp?

I've multiple incomplete projects I'm working on via Windows 10 Video Editor. I have backed these up and saved them as VPB files.I'm told to upgrade to Clipchamp however, this doesn't recognise VPB files.How do I transfer my incomplete projects from Video Editor to Clipchamp so I can continue editing without losing years of work?Thanks

With the new update that removes Video Editor for Clipchamp, where will the unfinished videos in Video Editor go to?

I use Video Editor to work on various video projects for work. And while I have a copy of the finished videos, it is nice to have the unfinished version in the Video Editor library so that I can always go back and change the audio, add a frame, etc. My concern is that with this new update coming up, Microsoft is getting rid of Video Editor in favor of Clipchamp. Where will all my unfinished videos be stored now? Will they automatically transfer over to Clipchamp or is there a way to back up the unfinished file to then import into Clipchamp?

The files related to the project will be right now in:

%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe

I am sure you will not be able to import them on Clipchamp. The Legacy Video editor will continue to exist with the Photos Legacy app.

I have it on my Windows 11.

- As for your projects, if you have been using the default video editing app in Windows 10 and saving your projects locally on your computer, there should be no automatic deletion or uninstallation of the application or your projects.

- Clipchamp is designed to be user-friendly and have similar basic editing capabilities as the Windows 10 app. Consider giving it a try to see if it can meet your needs before dismissing it. The 3D effects may be available via custom assets.



- You should not be forced to switch to Clipchamp immediately. The Windows 10 Video Editor will likely remain available but not receive future updates. You can continue using it until you're ready to transition.
