Windows 10: How can i get my computer to detect my 2nd monitor

hello my name is Corey. I purchased a new computer several months ago that i wanted to connect 2 monitors to. I eventually purchased the necessary HDMI connectors that allowed me to set the two up. It has been working fine for months. Just recently I clicked on something on FaceBook that told me that whatever i clicked on was a virus and notified me i needed to do something to fix it. I immediately turned the computer off only because i had a second screen that i could click on and shut it down. Windows 10 stopped detecting 2nd monitor

I've restarted the computer (several times), and it's not showing any signs of detecting the 2nd monitor.

Ever since it stopped working, there's only '1' Display option; clicking 'Detect' in Multiple displays results in the message
"Didn't detect another display"; the Device Manager only lists one monitor (screenshot below); and it has stopped allowing me to select other projection modes unless I connect to the 2nd monitor wirelessly.

I'm using an HDMI cable for the 2nd monitor, and have tried both HDMI ports on the monitor unsuccessfully. The monitor models are Dell E2414H and LG 24J4840.

2nd monitor not being detected

Received a software update for windows 10. Upon restart my 2nd monitor was no longer working. Went to the display section in Settings and it is not being detected. Pushed the detect button and nothing. How do I get this back. My 2nd monitor is more
important than any new things in the update.

 

2nd Monitor Not Detected

I recently found in my closet an older monitor, and I decided I wanted to hook it up to my computer as a second monitor. It's a Dell E228WFP, so it's pretty old. It still works, I tested it. The problem is that it's
not detected by my computer.

This computer is also somewhat old. It still has Windows 7 on it. My main monitor is connected through DVI while the Dell E228WFP is connected through VGA. The Dell always
stays in Power Save Mode, and the light to show it's on is amber/yellow. I know it's not being detected because clicking detect under Screen Resolution options does nothing, and there's no setting for multiple monitors. It's also not listed under Devices,
white the main monitor is.

I'm not sure what else I can do to try and get it to work. I've tried unplugging the main monitor and leaving the Dell hooked up, but the screen still stayed blank. I tried disconnecting both and reconnecting, nothing.
