Any fix for the Cursor Bug?

I recently read some people have managed to fix the cursor bug by flashing their GPU bios and was wondering if there was any truth to this. I'm using a Powercolor PCS+ 5870 and they don't seem to provide a download for the GPU Bios so I'm hesitant to take any risks.

Using 10.10 attached is a pic of the cursor glitching this morning.

Any fix for the Cursor Bug?

I have it from time to time, and it's not too bad, but I don't do anything challenging that I need the cursor for. If I was trying to do graphic editing or something else, I probably would be mad enough to get rid of eyefinity.

AFAIK, I have a very recent BIOS for my cards. I flashed them to fix the "cold bug" I was getting with watercooling. However, I still have the cursor issues occasionally.

    mouse cursor corrupt

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It sounds like the custom cursor file you've downloaded and applied for your Windows 10 system is either missing or corrupted, which is causing the erratic behavior of your mouse cursor. Here's how you can fix it:

    1. Change the Cursor to Default:
      • Go to Settings by pressing Windows + I.
      • Click on Devices.
      • Select Mouse from the left pane, then click on Additional mouse options.
      • In the Mouse Properties window, go to the Pointers tab.
      • Under the Scheme, select Windows Default (system scheme) or any other default option available.
      • Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
    2. Check for the Missing or Corrupted File:
      • Navigate to the location mentioned in the error message

        C:\Users\Vmzla\Downloads\macOS-BigSur-Regular-Windows\
      • If the Default.cur file is indeed missing or appears to be of an unusually small size (which could indicate corruption), you'll need to download the cursor pack again or choose another one.
    3. Download Cursor File Again:
      • Find a reputable source to download the macOS cursor pack for Windows.
      • Download the cursor pack and extract it to a known location.
    4. Reapply the New Cursor:
      • Follow the first step to open the Mouse Properties window.
      • This time, instead of choosing a default scheme, click on Browse and navigate to where you've extracted the new cursor pack.
      • Select the appropriate .cur file for the 'Normal Select' cursor and click Open.
      • Click Apply, then OK to save the changes.
    5. Update Windows and Drivers:
      • Ensure your Windows 10 is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking on Check for updates.
      • Update your mouse or touchpad driver through Device Manager by right-clicking on the start menu, selecting Device Manager, finding your mouse or touchpad under Mice and other pointing devices, right-clicking on it, and selecting Update driver.
If after these steps, your cursor is still behaving erratically, consider restarting your computer if you haven't already. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix unexpected issues.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards
