Windows 10: How can I disable ASUS ScreenPad software?

Hey there, this is my very first support post, and I am not quite sure whether this is the exact correct place for it, or whether TenForums is even suitable for this problem. If something isn't quite right, please don't hesitate to move my post to a different forum, or direct me to a better place to ask for help. Feel free to ask for clarification or additional info if needed too. I have recently bought an Asus laptop with a ScreenPad, an additional display on the laptop's touchpad that comes with a built-in interface for multitasking. It's cool for most people the way it is, but unfortunately, I wish to use it in a very specific way that the system was not designed for, and I'm asking here to see where I should look to put together a solution. I use this laptop very frequently when projecting to displays and big screens in meeting rooms/classrooms/other projection rooms. I would like to use the ScreenPad of my laptop as a "preview monitor" of what is currently on the projector display, so that I do not need to look behind me at the projected display to see what is currently there. My main display would be used for the stuff that I don't want to display on the projector, so I can work on my private stuff while being only a quick glance from what is on the projector's display. However, there is a problem with this. The problem is of the way the ScreenPad handles switches to touchpad mode. Currently, windows on the ScreenPad can only be interacted with in a touchscreen-like fashion. I want to interact with them in a touchpad-like fashion, meaning that gestures on the ScreenPad will interact with my windows there like a normal touchpad, except that I have windows there. The problem is, switching to touchpad mode also activates this overlay: which stops me from interacting with windows on that display. I can interact with my main display windows normally, but I can't interact with the windows on my ScreenPad until I exit touchpad mode, which allows me to interact with the windows on my ScreenPad, but only in a touchscreen-like fashion, not in a touchpad-like fashion. I am halfway to figuring out a solution to this problem: I used Process Explorer to kill the AsusScreenPad.exe app, the one that projects the app interface and that black overlay onto the ScreenPad. If I put my ScreenPad into touchpad mode and then kill the app with Process Explorer, I get exactly what I want for about five minutes or so, because there seems to be some sort of thing that makes it hiccup back to life after a while, stopping my enjoyable experience. If there is any way I could keep that software from kicking back to life, please answer below. Thanks all! (Oh yeah, they insist I provide this, winver 20H2.)

While this definitely sounds like a question for ASUS 2nd or 3rd tier tech support... you might want to check out Revo Uninstaller (free). Revo Uninstaller Free - Remove unwanted programs easily


While I wouldn't suggest uninstalling the software, which Revo could do, I would suggest checking Tools > Autoruns, which will allow you to stop "things" from "running" in the first place.









Other things possible with Revo Uninstaller...

Can uninstall anything AND it's registry entries and leftovers.
Can uninstall Windows Apps, and their registry entries and leftovers.
Even has a Hunter Mode for finding unlisted... things.

If you use Revo to uninstall AND remove registry entries and leftovers, you should probably consider using backup software as well.
Most of us on here, use Macrium Reflect. It has a very small footprint, and is very fast.

IF Revo can't do it, then I would check out Autoruns, which is a bit more powerful.

Autoruns is portable. Just extract it to a created folder of your choice, and run: Autoruns64.exe

Set the Options as shown, make sure you're on the "Everything" tab... then just "search" for whatever, in the "Filter" box.

Thanks for your reply. I was able to solve this problem by myself by playing with the permissions of the apps that run the ScreenPad software.

If any of you are encountering the same problem and would like a solution, the solution is to navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\B9ECED6F.ScreenPadMaster_2.1.13.0_x64__qmba6cd70vzyy and use security protocol to add a Deny permission to Everyone on AsusScreenPadPlayVideo.exe and on AsusScreenPad.exe.
