Windows 10: How can I delete my images that I created from Bing Image Creator?!

I tried to clear history from browsing history and cached images and files, and then when I went back to Bing Image Creator, all my images that I generated was still there! Is there another way to get rid of my images that I created it from Bing Image Creator?!

Building the New Bing Image Creator

As we announced earlier this week, with Bing Image Creator you can now turn words into pictures to truly express your imagination, giving you access to infinite image possibilities right from within Bing. A vivid dream, a birthday invitation to fit a unique theme, the new concept you’re trying to land at work. These are personal and specific. These are things that require a unique image to express your unique idea. Even better is that you can ask for these pictures in the flow of your conversation with the new Bing chat.

Much like in my first blog about Building the New Bing, I’d like to share some of the thinking and the tech behind this magic, while providing some tips for how to best use the feature in the product. Image Creator uses OpenAI’s latest DALL·E model, a powerful language model that can generate coherent and diverse texts on almost any topic. Except, instead of taking text as input and producing a text as output, DALL·E takes a text as input and produces an image as output. It uses a technique called self-attention to learn the relationships between text and images. The results are realistic images that can combine concepts, attributes, and styles. For example, you can ask Bing Image Creator to draw a “cat wearing a hat and sunglasses” or a “surreal painting of a pineapple” and it will generate images that match your request. You can include a significant number of details in your query like in the image below. For the best results, you’ll want to include a subject, details and the scene.

I find that it’s more intuitive and fun to create images iteratively within a Bing chat session, rather than directly in the Image Creator vertical. Plus, there are scenarios where it is so helpful to be able to create within the context of a chat session, for instance creating a character for the bedtime story you just wrote. As you may recall, we announced Image Creator availability in a few markets back in October. So why did we wait so long to roll it out more broadly? Well, there are a few reasons:

We wanted to test and learn, especially regarding the implications for responsible AI. It’s important to note that in addition to generating AI images with the latest DALL·E models from OpenAI, we prohibit the use of Image Creator to produce content that can inflict harm on individuals or society. To achieve this, we block certain prompts and images, and we’ve used the last few months to help inform this approach. I realize this may result in over blocking some images sometimes which can be frustrating, and that’s why we’ve implemented an appeal process and will continue to improve our classifiers.

We were expecting an improved model from OpenAI. Their latest model has dramatically increased the quality of the images with more detail and understands more visual concepts, which leads to more relevant results.

Since last October, we have announced the new Bing, and it immediately became clear how intuitively Image Creator could fit into the chat experience. We were able to enhance the Prometheus model by providing instructions and examples of how to interact with Image Creator in a multi-turn fashion.

Of course, even with all of these adjustments, we are still learning and iterating so please keep providing your valuable feedback. I’m delighted that Image Creator is now available to try for free in English everywhere that the new Bing is available. Here’s how: For those in the new Bing preview:

Go to bing.com and go to the chat experience, and select the Creative conversation style.

Ask Bing to create an image for you. The more descriptive the better. For instance "create an image of an astronaut riding a skateboard, digital art" will create better images than “create an image of an astronaut.” Remember to type the query only in English at this point.

Every query gives you up to 4 images to choose from.

You can download or share your images and encourage others to give it a try.

If you’re not yet in the preview of the new Bing, you can still access Bing Image Creator by going to bing.com/create. And if you’re not already signed up, here’s another reason to start using Microsoft Rewards. As someone who speaks daily in my non-native language, I’m very familiar with the challenges of trying to fully articulate myself. It’s the same feeling you get when you can’t find a picture that captures exactly what you want to express. I think that’s one of the reasons why I’m captivated by the potential of Image Creator and how it empowers us to become our own visual storytellers. Even though the internet is vast, I bet you can think of a time when you couldn’t quite find the right image. In a way, Image Creator infinitely expands the Bing image index since, if you can’t find an existing image, you can create it. I can’t wait to see what you all create with Bing Image Creator. Image Creator now live for Microsoft Bing and soon in Microsoft Edge

Last week, we announced our new creator tools in Microsoft 365, Bing, and Edge, designed to help ignite people’s imaginations and express themselves. Today, one of those tools, Image Creator from Microsoft Bing, begins rolling out in a limited preview to select markets and will be coming later this month to Microsoft Edge to those same markets. Image Creator allows you to create an image that doesn’t exist, limited only by your imagination. Simply type in a description of something, any additional context like location or activity, and an art style, and Image Creator will make it for you. Users have always been able to search Bing Images for an image that exists on the web, but with Image Creator they’re now able to create the images they want to see. Within Edge, users can use Image Creator in their sidebar. They’re able to create an image to share a life update with their friends online and drag and drop it within their main working page, all without losing focus on their workflow. Today, we’d like to share a bit more detail about how Image Creator works and what steps we’re taking to ensure it remains fun and inclusive. We’ve found that generally, Image Creator works best when you type in a description of something, with additional context like location or the art style you’d like to emulate, as opposed to a more limited description. See below how Image Creator brings “dog astronaut launching into space, digital art” to life, for example, and how that contrasts with “crochet goldfish pencil drawing."[

You’re really only limited by your imagination here, so please try your own prompt, and see what the tool creates. Given that imagination is as much an art as a science, Image Creator will yield four options to choose from, that best represent what you’re looking for. As we said last week at announce, it’s important with early technologies like Image Creator – which is powered by AI technology DALL∙E 2 by OpenAI – to acknowledge that this is new and that we expect it to continue to evolve and improve. We take our commitment to responsible AI seriously. To help prevent the delivery of inappropriate results across the Designer app and Image Creator, we are working together with our partner OpenAI, who developed DALL∙E 2, to take the necessary steps and will continue to evolve our approach. We will regularly take the feedback we have and share that with OpenAI to improve the model as well as applying to our own mitigations work. For example, OpenAI removed explicit sexual and violent content from the dataset used to train the model. We’ve also adopted a range of mitigations, such as leveraging Microsoft Bing insights on problematic queries, as well as using blocklists and classifiers powered by Azure cognitive services that lower the risk of offensive prompts being issued. These and other mitigation efforts will continually evolve over time to ensure we're up to date with new angles of potential abuse. Microsoft has applied additional technology to address biases sometimes found in generative image technology. While some prompts may still surface biases, this is an area we are working to continuously improve. While we’re excited to see people use Image Creator to express themselves, we also want to make sure the content created using Image Creator does not impose harm to others. Bing Image Creator comes to Bing Chat and Microsoft Edge

Last month we introduced the new AI-powered Bing and Microsoft Edge, your copilot for the web – delivering better search, complete answers, a new chat experience and the ability to create content. Already, we have seen that chat is reinventing how people search with more than 100 million chats to date. We’ve seen people use chat in a variety of ways, from refining answers to complex questions to using it as a form of entertainment or for creative inspiration. Today we’re taking the chat experience to the next level by making the new Bing more visual. We’re excited to announce we are bringing Bing Image Creator, new AI-powered visual Stories and updated Knowledge Cards to the new Bing and Edge preview. Powered by an advanced version of the DALL∙E model from our partners at OpenAI, Bing Image Creator allows you to create an image simply by using your own words to describe the picture you want to see. Now you can generate both written and visual content in one place, from within chat. We know from research that the human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than text, making visual tools a critical way people search, create and gain understanding. Based on Bing data, images are one of the most searched categories – second only to general web searches. Historically, search was limited to images that already existed on the web. Now, there are almost no limits to what you can search for and create. For those in the Bing preview, Bing Image Creator will be fully integrated into the Bing chat experience, rolling out initially in Creative mode. By typing in a description of an image, providing additional context like location or activity, and choosing an art style, Image Creator will generate an image from your own imagination. It’s like your creative copilot. Just type something like “draw an image” or “create an image” as a prompt in chat to get creating a visual for a newsletter to friends or as inspiration for redecorating your living room.

Bing Image Creator preview will also be available in Microsoft Edge, making it the first and only browser with an integrated AI-powered image generator. To use Bing Image Creator in Edge, simply click the Bing Image Creator icon in the sidebar to create your image or invoke from Bing chat in Edge.

At Microsoft, our teams are guided by our Responsible AI principles and the Responsible AI Standard to help them develop and deploy AI systems responsibly. To curb the potential misuse of Image creator, we are working together with our partner OpenAI, who developed DALL∙E, to deliver an experience that encourages responsible use of Image Creator. We have ensured OpenAI’s safeguards, plus additional protections, have been incorporated into Image Creator. For example, we have put controls in place that aim to limit the generation of harmful or unsafe images. When our system detects that a potentially harmful image could be generated by a prompt, it blocks the prompt and warns the user. We also make it clear that Image Creator’s images are generated by AI, and we include a modified Bing icon in the bottom left corner of each image to help indicate that the image was created using Image Creator. We continue to work closely with OpenAI to build, test and review mitigations for our integrations. Since making the new Bing available in preview, we have been testing it with people to get real-world feedback to learn and improve the experience. People used it in some ways we expected and others we didn’t. In this spirit of learning and continuing to build new capabilities responsibly, we’re rolling out Bing Image Creator in a phased approach by flighting with a set of preview users before expanding more broadly. We will initially only include Image Creator in the Creative mode of Bing chat and our intention is to make it available in Balanced and Precise mode over time. We are also working on some ongoing optimizations for how Image Creator works in multi-turn chats. We continue to believe the best way to bring these technologies to market is to test them carefully, in the open, where everyone can provide feedback. New AI-Powered Visual Stories and Knowledge Cards To support the growing demand for more visual search experiences, we are also making Stories and Knowledge Cards 2.0 available to all Bing users. Stories provide a more engaging way to search and interact with content, offering images and short videos. Also new to Bing users today, Knowledge Cards 2.0 is an AI-powered infographic-inspired experience that provides fun facts and key information at a glance. It’s been updated to include interactive, dynamic content like charts, graphs, timelines, visual stories and more. With these updates and more coming, our goal is to deliver more immersive experiences in Bing and Edge that make finding answers and exploring the web more interesting, useful and fun.

Availability Bing Image Creator integrated into Bing chat will begin to roll out to Bing preview users on both desktop and mobile starting today. For those not in the new Bing preview, the preview experience of Image Creator is now available at bing.com/create for Bing users around the world in English. We will add more language support over time. Bing Image Creator is also available in Microsoft Edge from the Image Creator icon in sidebar for both desktop and mobile starting today for Edge users around the world in English. We will also soon integrate Image Creator into Edge from the new Bing button in chat mode in the preview version of Edge.
