Windows 10: HID I2C driver problem: TOUCHPAD NOT WORKING after update win 11 version 23H2

Hello everyone,Two days after the most recent Windows 11 update 23H2, my touchpad has all of a sudden stopped working. The laptop that I use is a Lenovo Yoga 7i Pro X. I have tried a lot of Lenovo support's recommendations, but nothing has worked. I have also tried to install synaptic HID compliant touch pad driver. The touchpad's device appeared in device manager, and there was no error message, but the touchpad was not functional. I then restarted after uninstalling every touchpad-related driver. All the drivers were correctly installed and replaced by microsoft and the touch pad started t

Duplicate I2C HID device (touchpad) in Device Manager

Hi,

I'm using Dell Inspiron 13 7370 with Windows 11. I work well in 6 months, but now I cannot using multi-finger 's function of the touchpad. After checking for a while, I found something:

- I2C HID Device is duplicated with error code 10

- The working I2C HID device has the same registry key value (the same Class Guid) with the other I2C HID Device

- No HID-compliant touchpad in device list

- Now the mousepad works as left-mouse click only

What I've already tried:

- Update latest Window update

- Update all Dell driver

- Installed Touchpad driver software from Dell (after running the exe file, it said my laptop doen't need this installation)

- Restore backup

- Search UpperFilters, LowerFilters of I2C HID in registry for deletion but not found any upperfilters, lowerfilters key

Please help to fix it.

I2C HID driver error 10 - Touchpad not working

I have got Asus TUF Gaming 15 (Windows 11 64 bits). Yesterday, touchpad stopped working. In device manager is following error: Device: I2C Controller Device status: Can't run this device(code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed. I tried restart, update driver and system update but it didn't helped. i tryied everything i know. Please help!

 

Driver failure I2C HID Device

Just some info, in case it may help. On my Dell system, the HID section of the Device Manager has a touchpad and I2C HID device. Both are using Win 10 drivers.

In the Systems section, there are two Serial I/O I2C Host controllers. They are using Intel drivers.

When you mess around in the Device Manager, there are times when setting it to show hidden devices may be helpful.

If you download drivers from MSI, perhaps do the chipset as well as the touchpad. Those drivers are from 2020 so you probably already had them.
