    Hibernate mode not available?


    Hi GuysSo I coudnt find hibernate mode in my power settings so i decided to use this command POWERCFG /HIBERNATE ONbut I got this response The following items are preventing hibernation on this system. The system firmware does not support hibernation.I found that strange because I used hibernation a week ago but after I changed some settings it stopped working.

    We would like to isolate this issue that you're having right now. Will you be able to provide the exact error message that you recieved?

    We suggest that you try to enable hibernation on your device using the Command Prompt.

    To make hibernation available, follow these steps:

    • Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
    • In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
    • When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
    • At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate on, and then press Enter.
    • Type exit, and then press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.

    Hibernate mode

    I have my laptop set to hibernate mode when I close the lid. It worked fine with Windows 8 but since the upgrade to Windows 10 the laptop has no power after closing the lid and opening it hours later. In settings, it does show that it is suppose to go
    into hibernate mode when lid is closed.

    Any suggestions?

    powercfg setup hibernate

    Hi JR,

    By default, Hibernate mode is not available on the Start menu
    or on the Shutdown options. But, you can enable it anytime you like. To enable the
    Hibernate mode, kindly follow these steps:

    • Go to Power options>Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    • Check the box beside Hibernate.
    • Check the Shutdown options, the Hibernate mode should now be available.
