Windows 10: Hi my stolen computer was found and now my PIN wont work and says the administrator has to...

HI there last week on September 7th our computer was stolen I did the lock feature and changed the password on September 8th our account. However I was really nervous about the situation so I removed the device from the account. The police were able to get the laptop back but I can't access it using our PIN number says the adminstrator needs to unlock? However I don't have the computer in my device list to unlock it anymore and when I try to add the device it is not accepting the serial number. I am just wondering if there is a work around or do I need to get it reset by a computer tech?

Can't create pin for login. Pin stopped working

Hi Kevin,

To resolve your concern about creating pin to your computer, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC (click to get permission when prompted).
• Delete the contents of that folder (delete everything in that folder, but leave that folder and everything above it).
• Go back to settings, accounts, sign in options.
• Your non-working pin will now be gone, and you can just click 'add a pin' and set it again.

My administrator pin does not work

Hello Microsoft,

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 Gaming Laptop with Windows 10 on it. I haven't had any problems with it since I got it, but recently I have been trying to open apps and files that require administrator permission with a pin. When I put in my pin, the computer
says "Something happened and your pin isn't available."

I've tried everything from Command prompt to resetting my pin, and none of these options work as they either require administrator permission (with a pin) to change the settings or I cannot find the software (I can't find the command prompt option after
pressing Windows key + X).

I've watched tutorials and looked on websites and tried everything but nothing works. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do to get my pin working?

Thank you for the update. You may check this article on how to disable OneDrive on your computer. Regarding your "not the Administrator" issue, we suggest that you
enable the built-in administrator account on Windows 10 by running a command in an elevated command prompt. In order to do so, kindly follow these steps:

• Open Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
• Accept the User Account Control prompt.
• Enter this command to enable the hidden administrator account:
  net user administrator /active:yes
