Windows 10: Hey there, My laptop has a sound problem. Like a cracking sound whenever I play my videos.....

My laptop has sound problem. There is a sound that comes when playing videos or audios.

cracking sound when i play music, videos, games.

so here goes....

when i play music, videos in pc speaker on my hp oem laptop running windows 8.1, i hear a popping or cracking sound every after 20 to 40 seconds. not just that but also when am playing games like nfs mw 2005, the cracking sound disturbs the game by making
it run slow for a few seconds maybe 10 seconds as maximum.

And i have noticed also that when i play other games like x men wolverine with headsets on, some parts in the game play in loud speaker.

am thinking maybe its a virus issue but antivirus detects nothing. maybe reinstalling some drivers but i dont know how to do that and i dont which ones to reinstall.

• Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
• Did you try the same on a different player?
• Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

• Right click on sound icon.
• Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Playing audio.
