I turned off syncing on OneDrive because it was continuously syncing & that blue circle would not stop so I could click on anything to work on. I need all of my files accessible. I already upgraded to Microsoft 365 for storage. It has nothing I want or need to use. How do I get all of my files back on my laptop?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

Files missing in confusion between "onedrive app" and "onedrive-personal in finder"....how to retrieve them?

    • After Mac upgrade few months back, onedrive app was not working.
    • Another version of onedrive was installed and it used to show as onedrive-personal in finder.
    • All files were being stored in this finder folder.
    • After last week upgrade, finder one-drive disappeared and earlier onedrive app has started working.
    • Problem is that the files stored in finder onedrive-personal are not to be found in onedrive app.
    • where do i look for my files saved over the past months and how to retrieve them?

    Onedrive is missing files

    Hi,ConfusedandFlustered

Thank you for your reply and patience.

According to your feedback, BitLocker and OneDrive are completely independent and there is no BitLocker encryption affecting OneDrive file loss.

We are sorry to say that OneDrive web side is the ultimate measure to retrieve lost data, if all else fails, then you may need to try third-party data recovery software options to help you recover your files. However, their success may vary and complete recovery is not guaranteed.

    Future precautions:

    1. Always make sure to back up important files in a separate location, such as an external hard drive or other cloud service.
    2. Be careful when deleting folders, especially those related to the system or applications. Always check the contents before deleting.

It is again recommended that you submit your suggestions by sending an email to the OneDrive Support team to help you resolve account issues and attempt to retrieve lost data.
