    So I built a custom PC and I noticed that my PC is using my USB drive as the main storage device instead of my m.2 SSD. The USB contained the Windows Installation Media so I used that to download Windows. In the bios setting, I have my m.2 SSD as the main boot priority, but even then, I think the OS was installed the USB drive and downloaded most of the drives, apps, and hardware on it as well. Because of this, I can no longer get windows updates because of insufficient storage. Is there a way to make the storage use my SSD instead of the USB? How will I be able to transfer all the data apps,

    SSD with USB interface for Storage Spaces

    According to Storage Spaces in Windows - Microsoft Support (pull down the top item):

    "You can use a variety of types of drives with Storage Spaces, including USB, SATA, and SAS drives."

    However, when I wanted to use a USB flash drive to create a storage pool, the Storage Spaces Control Panel said: "No drives that work with Storage Spaces are available."

    Will a SSD with a USB interface work for Storage Spaces?

    The Storage Spaces with the USB HDDs has been removed, thank you!

    Then I tried creating Storage Spaces using USB flash drives that I happen to have handy, but seemingly against what Microsoft says in the given link (...can use...USB drives...) Storage Spaces on Windows 10 cannot use USB flash drives.

    Now I am looking into creating Storage Spaces using SSD USB drives that I would have to buy, I don't have them handy.

    So again, returning to the original issue in the original post, does anyone have actual experiences using SSD USB drives for Storage Spaces?

    Help!! My PC used USB storage instead of SSD.

    All USB storage devices have code 39 error

    • I get the same error for all USB storage devices
    • It occurs only in USB storage devices. Mouse and keyboard are working with no issue and even the USB WIFI card works fine.
    • The main parts are:
      • Intel Core i7-3770K
      • Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
      • Gigabyte GTX 670 OC
      • Samsung SSD 850 EVO
    • I get this error only on this PC. The I tried different PCs with Windows 10 and all of them worked.

    I tried following the link you provided and it didn't help.
