Windows 10: Help, my mic wont work

Hello, I have a Desktop and a laptop.

Usually, I use my laptop for university notes and work, and my desktop for everything else. Therefore I have never needed to use headphones with my laptop.

There once was an occasion I used earphones for a zoom call on my laptop in which both the audio and mic worked fine.

Current day: Like I said, I use my desktop for everything, which now includes Microsoft teams calls for uni. However, I am stuck at home isolating and only have my laptop to attend Microsoft teams calls.

When I used the same earphones I used for zoom call a few months prior, Microsoft teams said mic is not working. I accepted and didnt bother to fix it.

I now have purchased a better headset for my Desktop for when I get back to uni. I decided to set it up and mess around with settings on my laptop, only to realize that the microphone does not work.

When I say it does not work I mean: - The microphone test within settings does not pick anything up - The microphone test within razer synapse 3 does not pick anything up. - A dummy test call on Microsoft teams comes up with the same "mic does not work" message.

I tested the default laptop microphone for it also not to pick anything up.

I have configured everything correctly in synapse and windows settings: -Correct microphone set as default device -Microphone volume is max -Drivers are up to date -I uninstalled the device to force new drivers to install

Like I say, when i get back to university, my headset will work in its entirety, but I have another week of being unable to speak in calls and I really would like to fix that.

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

Need help - Creative Fatal1ty headset mic wont work?

Hey guys, in a bit of bother if youd care to help!

I purchased this Fatal1ty headset like a week ago, however I have only just gone to use the mic with the new X-FI Xtreme audio card - however the mic just doesnt seem to work. The headset works fine, im listening to some alkaline trio on it right now - however the mic just wont work. The switch on the unit isnt off, ive tried everything, but to no avail.

Anyone got any insight on this problem? google = fail on this one, so I need some help from you guys!

 

Front Panel Headphones and Mic not working.

Hey Everyone,

Mobo : ASUS M2N MX SE
Processor : AMD Athlon X2 5200+
OS : Windows XP Professional SP2 x86

My Rear panel Speakers and mic works all fine. I got a new set of headphones(with mic) when i connect it to the front panel they don't work. NO SOUND OUTPUT.

I updated the audio drivers. I tried a few many things but I still can't get them running.
My default Sound Manager is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Please help me get my Front Panel working. A step-by-step guide would be better.
