Windows 10: HELP! My computer is locked and I cannot access - cannot create a new PIN.

My computer is locked and message is “your PIN is no longer available due to a change to security settings…set up a new PIN” When I am trying to set up the new PIN it is sending a security code to an old email adroit I NO longer have access to….I changed it but it says it will take a month before I can access to my account and get a new PIN. I cannot wait a month…HELP!!!I tried the Command Promptsuggested but not working…not sure I do it properly I always get X:\windows\systems 32??Commands are not working.Thanks!

Can't create pin for login. Pin stopped working

To resolve your concern about creating pin to your computer, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC (click to get permission when prompted).
• Delete the contents of that folder (delete everything in that folder, but leave that folder and everything above it).
• Go back to settings, accounts, sign in options.
• Your non-working pin will now be gone, and you can just click 'add a pin' and set it again.

Provide us additional information to assist you better with accessing the PIN on your device:

• 
  What is the complete error code/ error message while trying to access the PIN?
  
• 
  Where you able to see any other log-in password option on the lock screen?
  

I suggest you to try using the password on your lock screen and check if it helps. Also, try to access the user profile from the web browser on different computer and check if user credentials matches.

If the issue persists on the web browser: I suggest you to refer to the below link about: Why can't
you sign in? and try to reset the password. Try the new password on the computer and check if it helps.

If not this might be an issues on the computer, try the troubleshooting steps suggested by
Wasim Asad on August 18, 2015 and check if it resolves your issue.

When trying to sign into Windows 10

One possible solution to your issue is to try booting the computer in safe mode and see if you can log in with your old password. Once you are logged in, you can then reset your PIN. To boot in safe mode, follow these steps:

- Restart your computer

- Press and hold the Shift key while your computer is restarting

- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart

- Press the number key that corresponds to Enable Safe Mode

Once you are logged in using your old password, you can reset your PIN by following these steps:

- Press the Windows key + I to open Settings

- Click on Accounts

- Click on Sign-in options

- Under PIN, click on the Reset button

- Follow the on-screen prompts to create a new PIN
