Windows 10: Headset Microphone not recognized Laptop Windows 10

Alright so I recently bought a Sennheiser g4me one Headset. When I tried it out the sound was working perfectly well but when I did the audio test I wasn't getting any response from my Headset microphone and was instead getting sound from the built in mic.

Also I can't find my headset device name anywhere on the computer. The sound is coming from the headset but it's still called Speakers Realtek high definition Audio.


I was using the 3 stripe headphone jack that came with the headset, I also tried using the 2 stripe microphone jack but It didn't make a difference apart from making the sound disappear as well.

Windows 10 does not recognize headset with microphone

Windows 10 does not recognize headset with microphone. Actually it does not recognize that the headset has a microphone.

The headset is properly integrated but not the microphone on the headset.

I have a new msi laptop with Windows 10, and my headset microphone is not recognized. It's a 2-jack set; the headphones work fine, but the microphone is not even recognized when plugged into the input jack. Onboard microphone works OK, but I prefer the headset. You
can see in the picture that the laptop's onboard microphone is there, but no options for any headset.





I updated the Realtek audio drivers through the Device Manager and still nothing. Several other people are talking about this but no clear answer as to what they did to resolve. The speech troubleshooter does not help: it keeps asking me to repeat a phrase
into my microphone, but the microphone is not even 'there' so to speak.

 

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.
