Windows 10: Headphone microphone not working.

I have Beats Studio 3 Headphones which work with either Bluetooth or wired. When I have it wired into my pc, the audio sounds fine but I can't use the built in mic my headphones have. If I connect the headphones through Bluetooth, the mic works but both the audio and mic quality are horrendous practically unusable. I am able to make the Bluetooth sound quality sound nice but then the mic doesn't work. When I have "Headphones Beats Studio³ Stereo" selected as my sound the headphone quality is fine but mic doesn't work. When I have "Headset Beats Studio³ Hands-Free AG Audio" selected as my

This is all i know btw when i click headphone it says mic is unplugged and when i do Mic in it says speakers are unplugged and mic is on.

Hi guys, my microphone worked well till someone changed some settings on my laptop and now idk how to change it back. I can hear in my headphones but the microphone is not detect. Only the laptop microphone works.... I have Steelseries arctis 3

To diagnose the issue, I suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

Step 1: Ensure the headphone or microphone is fully and firmly inserted into the correct jack.

Step 2: Plug in the headphone or microphone and see if the same shows up in Control Panel.

Please follow the instruction:

a) Right-click on sound icon in the taskbar and select “Recording Devices”.

See if the Microphone is listed.

b) If not, right-click on the blank area and select “Show Disabled Devices”.

c) Right-click on your microphone and select “Enable ”.

Step 3: Check the volume property. Ensure that it’s not mute.

Method 2:

This may happen when you have the external speakers set to default.

Perform the task mentioned below to set headphones as default:

1. On the start screen of windows 10 press the ‘Windows key + X’
key on the keyboard and then click on Control Panel >
Sound option.

2. In the new windows click on the tab "Playback" and right click in the window and click on
Show Disabled devices.

3. Now check if headphones are listed there and right click on it and choose
Enable.

4. Highlight that headphones and click on "Set as Default".
