Windows 10: has anyone repaired the Brother laser printer issue

Hi, One of Win11's updates killed my ability to print to my Brother laser printers. Have tried uninstalling, spool restart, clear printer folder, latest drivers etc. It will install fine, Windows sees it and I can communicate with Brother software, Win just will not communicate with printer it sees it just will not even send a test page to it. It will show an empty queue. I have confirmed operation in Win10 and Win7. Any ideas? I sure do wish I could go back to Win10, but alas I cannot without fresh install and lose everything. Follow the suggestions under the “faint” print topic. Light print is not a typical print problem requiring repair. Light print is usually a problem with your printer supplies, making it a consumables problem and not a printer hardware problem. Use a genuine brother toner cartridge and drum unit. Also check for the “toner save” feature that might be turned on.

If the light print continues, it is almost certainly the transfer roller that is causing the issue. However, it can be an electrical issue as well as an issue with the laser assembly.

Transfer rollers are usually a simple replacement but I don’t see a transfer roller available for this model of printer. Therefore, if using new, genuine supplies does not fix the problem the printer is not serviceable or is not worth the cost of repairing.

 

Can't Access networked Brother Laser printer- To print or use Web I/f

Not all Printer drivers are included in the installation media. Even mine (Brother HL-4040CN), you would need to manually add it to the list:

1. Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Add a Printer
2. Follow the steps to set up a network printer. At one point, Windows will search for available printer, click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
3. Click on "Windows Updates". Windows will start downloading a complete list of Printers.
4. Select your printer name & model then install.

EDIT: Just tried to install as a USB printer for MFC-7820N since I don't have this printer to set up as a network printer. The result as shown in the list after clicking on "Windows Update":

Both printers show that the toner is at about 87% left.

One thing, I have a network with Three desktops and One Laptop, Two laser printers, and Two Brother multi-function ink printers. The ink printers work fine and this problem started after we added a new Window 10 desktop to the network.
