Windows 10: Google Drive system tray icon not showing and not syncing

I am using Windows 11 and from some time ago I don't see anymore the small mini triangular Google Icon on my desktop's taskbar "show hidden icons" group, as it used to be shown.Furthermore, I am having a lot of trouble with my desktop Google Drive App and also when in Google Chrome, because in neither of them is "My Drive" syncing with my android Samsung devices: Tablet and Mobile Phone.I have tried several ways to fix it, including but not limited to unistall/reinstall of Google Drive in all the devices, but without success.So, unless I can get some effective advice from this forum - whic

Google Drive icon disappeared from notification area on right side of taskbar

I understand the importance of having quick access to your Google Drive icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar and the inconvenience caused by its sudden disappearance.

To resolve this issue, please follow the steps below:

1. Check Hidden Icons:
   
   • Click the up arrow (^) located in the notification area to view hidden icons.
     
   • Look for the Google Drive icon among the hidden icons. If you find it there, you can drag and drop it to the visible area for easy access.
     
2. Reset Notification Area Icons:
   
   • Open the "Settings" app by clicking on the Start button and selecting the gear icon.
     
   • Go to "Personalization" and then click on "Taskbar".
     
   • Scroll down and click on "Other system tray icons".
     
   • Find Google Drive in the list and ensure that the toggle switch is turned on.
     
3. Reinstall Google Drive: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider reinstalling Google Drive Sync following these steps:

Google Drive system tray icon not permanently showing and always switching to show in the overflow menu

I use the Windows desktop client for Google Drive (current version: 66.0.2.0).
I want the icon to be permanently shown in the system tray as seen in this image. But it always switches to where the red arrow in the image is pointing (overflow menu).





The way to show icons in the main system tray is via the setting in: Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Other system tray icons.





No matter how many times I enable the icon to show in the main system tray it will automatically toggle itself off after a few restarts.
I suspect it happens when either Windows or the Google Drive client runs an update but I'm not sure.

Is there a way to make the option stick?

My problem is NOT that the icon disappears completely from the system tray. It can always be found in the overflow. But I want it to always show in the main tray.

Current Windows version: Windows 11 Education N / 22H2 / 22621.819
But the problem exists since Windows 10.
