Recently Emsisoft Emergency Kit EEK detected "Gen:Trojan.Heur2.FU.ju0@aO2uNhpi B" on my system in the SysWOW64\cscript file. EEK said it could not remove the file without breaking Windows. I tried scanning with Malwarebytes and HitmanPro but neither scanner detected the file. Scanned again with EEK - all clear. Scanned again with EEK next time I logged on - this time "Gen:Trojan.Heur2.FUfollowed by a different string of characters" was detected. Resetting the PC seems to have cured the problem but I am still worried about what exactly this thing was...Looking on here I see there was an a

  2. database of malware producing false positives or false negatives

Many months ago I communicated with Malwarebytes about a trojan that was detected by Defender that was not detected by Malwarebytes. They indicated that Microsoft Defender is likely a false positive and to wait weeks or months for Microsoft to update their
database. To date the Defender continues to detect a trojan that is not detected by Malwarebytes.

Defender does not detect any malware on quick scans. However on full scans it detects this trojan that is not detected by Malwarebytes.

How does an end user determine whether one antivirus program is producing false positives or false negatives?

Sandboxie 5.28 - Trojan or False Positive - Inquiry

According to both Virus Total & OPSWAT, Sandboxie 5.28 contains the Trojan
Shelma. See for yourself. Just download Sandboxie 5.28 then upload to the 2 following online scanners.

    VirusTotal

Informed Sandboxie about this, but received no answer. Maybe this is a false positive. How can I be sure?

Gen:Trojan.Heur2.FU.ju0@aO2uNhpi B Detected. Is this a real virus or a false positive?

MPRESS .NET compressor - false positive since 09/01/2017

Since today, 09/01/2017, Windows Defender treats programs, compressed with

    MPRESS executable packer

    https://autohotkey.com/mpress/mpress_web.htm

    as a dangerous trojan.

It's definitely a FALSE positive; MPRESS is a great and very useful tool, it's definitely not a trojan or virus! Please update virus definition database and exclude this tool from your lists.

    Thank you,

    WBR, Sergey
