Windows 10: Focus assist missing from settings and action centre

I'm using Windows 11 and I want to be able to use focus assist to turn notifications on when I'm in full screen mode but I can't find it anywhere. It's not in my action centre or in settings. I've tried looking in system > notification but it's not there. I've also tried searching it but nothing comes up.

Hi. I noticed the same thing. In my case even with Focus assist turned off, it is being used to get the Windows Defender scan notification in the Action list. In past versions I think it was Settings or Windows Explorer that produced that notification. Windows Defender scheduled scan rarely worked right in any Windows 10 versions. I created my own WD scheduled scan task which works perfectly. I'd be happy to show you how to create that task if you don't know how to. Good luck.

Focus Assistant on 1903

Greetings.

Can anyone help me figure out how the Focus assistant in Windows 10 build 1903 works exactly? Because right now I have it to"off" in the Setting menu, but everytime I do stuff it turns itself "on" by its own and keeps reminding me that "notifications will remain silent in the action center while you're in fullscreen mode". Here's how it behaves to me at the moment:

• Desktop only - Alarm Mode On (sleep symbol)
• Opening Edge - Focus Assistant Off
• Opening Settings - Focus Assistant Off
• Opening Mail - Focus Asistant Off

Everytime I close and open edge, system menu, mail, calender etc the notification center pops up this message. The way it worked before (on 1809) was that when I played games in fullscreen mode the sleep symbol on the action center became active, but everywhere else it was turned off. Now it seems to think that my desktop is in fullscreen mode? I don't understand how this works exactly. I can open and minimize Edge constantly and the sleep symbol in the bottom right corner will appear and disappear everytime.

If you turn off Focus Assist in Settings > System > Focus Assist that just controls the current state of Focus Assist. Any of the automatic rules may turn it back on later. If you never want Focus Assist to turn back on then you'd have to turn off all of the automatic rules.

An in-place repair upgrade would have turned those rules on and reset them to their defaults.
