Windows 10: FlipFlopWheel setting not changing mouse wheel direction in material Windows Apps

The reg edit change to reverse scrolling direction FlipFlopWheel =1 works for all apps except for those "native" Windows 10 apps like "Settings" or those from the Microsoft Store i.e. any apps that have that 'material' design.I also note that when "hover scroll" is active the scroll direction of the hover behaviour of any app is the non reverse direction.Why? And how do I fix this please? Thank you :

How do I change scroll direction of a mouse NOT listed under Mice?

Thanks; yes, those are great directions and did work to change the direction of the wired mouse that came with the computer. But the mouse I'm using doesn't show up as a mouse in the hardware list, so I can't follow the rest of those steps. I need the mouse to appear on the list of mice in order to complete this sequence.

is there any way to change the direction of the mouse scroll wheel, as I recently changed from mac to windows and I prefer the mac scroll direction
